6 STEPS TO BECOMING A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR BEFORE YOU EVEN GRADUATE

Five days after I graduated from college, I launched my second business. I thought I should wait until I was done with school because it would be too complicated to be a student and an entrepreneur at the same time. I was totally wrong.

Building a small business makes much more sense to do while you're in school than it does to wait until after you've graduated. Universities offer tons of valuable resources to their students that entrepreneurs need and for which they often have to pay. Read more...

TEN TIPS TO HELP STUDENTS BECOME MORE EMPLOYABLE AFTER GRADUATION

One of the main reasons given by students for going to university is to get a good job afterwards, but with around 500,000 people graduating each year the job market is extremely competitive. A university course will help you develop some of the skills that employers are looking for, but you need more than a degree certificate to get a graduate-level job.

Companies want to see other achievements as well as qualifications, and they also want to make sure you have the right employability skills to be able to do the job – such as being a good communicator, an ability to work in a team and being able to solve problems. A positive attitude, enthusiasm and adaptability are also seen as important as you will have a lot to learn when you start your first graduate job. Read more...

11 THINGS YOU SHOULD LEARN BEFORE YOU GRADUATE.

  • Passion is overrated.

People always say “go into something you’re passionate about” but I’ve found it’s more effective to experiment and figure out what you’re good at first. Develop your passion and talents, be open minded to honest feedback and be humble. Believe in yourself but most importantly never stop working on your most valuable asset…YOU.

  • Learn about behavioral psychology and human nature.

You have to understand how humans generally function and how things like incentives, blind spots, and cognitive dissonance guide our actions. Knowing how human beings work (think and behave) will help you to succeed in the real world and even while you are in school. Nigeria is a country with a complex ethnic climate, understanding how to relate to everyone respectfully will make it easier for you to network, and achieve your goals faster. Read more...

DAILY HABITS TO A BLISSFUL LIFE.

Ever been in a situation where you just look at yourself and say “I wish I could just be happy.”.? Well you're not alone. Thousands of people face this exact same problem because we live in a world where we measure happiness with materialism and ignore the fact that a satisfying life can only be created, not bought.

There are so many steps to attaining a blissful life but the main ones have been comprised into the following basic steps. Enjoy! Read more...

THE BEST KEPT SECRET: DELAYED GRATIFICATION

Growing up, one value my father repeatedly preached to me was delayed gratification. It sounded like the usual almost over protective parental banter that sought to limit my play and fun. I was too restless and too excited to see the value in it as a growing boy. Why should I be studying when all my friends are playing game and tanning soccer? Why should I go to lesson when I can be at home watching TV?

Why should I take JAMB or SAT lessons when the cool kids are going to parties? These are the kinds of questions that would cross one’s mind as a boy especially when you are naturally extroverted… Read more...
