THE VOICE OF JACOB THE HAND OF ESAU

According to the Biblical Story, a man named Isaac, the son of Abraham was old, his sight was poor, and he was about to die. Isaac had two sons, twins actually, named Esau & Jacob. He asked them to come for his blessings but because his sight was poor Jacob was able to deceive him. Esau was a very hairy man so all Jacob had to do was wear goatskin on his arm so he felt like Esau but he still sounded like Jacob. This was what made his father utter the statement "It's the hand of Esau but the voice of Jacob". He eventually blessed Jacob with the blessings of Esau because he couldn't see. Employers find themselves in such a dilemma sometimes, they become Isaac in the hands of the Jacob - like employees and jobseekers who will do anything to get a high profile job. Is it not annoying when you as an employer is coughing out huge amounts in salary and the employee is just not living up to his/her billing? Do you smell a rat? Is something amiss? I mean, if I as an employer am doing my part, is it too much to ask that my staff be on point? If an Employer hires a "First Class" candidate, that employer must expect "First Class" value. Imagine a Chartered Accountant who cannot balance an account or cannot perform a simple audit. How can an architect with an MSc find it difficult to interpret the Floor Plan of a building? These are the things employers are faced with these days. The labour market is filled with imposters and "wanna bees", people claiming to be who they are not and having the documents to back their claims! Employers must not take things on face value, there are various security features on the certificates of various Professional Institutions and you have to be a trained eye to fish them out. This is serious business, verify the certifications of any and every member of your staff, see the person behind the mask, run a background check and put your mind to rest. It is one thing for an employee to be incompetent but to be unqualified is a double loss. Do the needful.
